Shahpur village

The Shahpur village Is located behind Jaypee Hospital in Sector 128, Noida. The Composite Government School caters to over 300 boys and girls from kindergarten to eight grade. The parents of these children are migrant labourers, electricians, plumbers and household helpers. Since they are busy throughout the day to make ends meet, the children remain unsupervised. Some of the children lacks accountability and opts to stay out of school, increasing their vulnerability to petty crimes and substance abuse (IJMR study – March 2011).

In 2017, a construction company donated us a beautiful half court to help children learn the game of basketball. We started our basketball programme in Shahpur soon after. The school administration felt they observed a remarkable change in the attitude of the children and overall enthusiasm with which they came to school. Some of these students went on to play at local tournaments across Delhi NCR and even won a few tournaments.

Help us provide the children of Shahpur with a coach and mentors who can help them lead a healthy and active lifestyle away from petty crime and substance abuse. Through our basketball program we address multiple UNSDG Goals and we hope to help these children take part in all competitions for a better and brighter future
