Our journey
DAF was founded in 2016 by renowned basketball coach and skill development trainer Pradyot Voleti with just 4 children, 2 bamboo poles and a hoop in a makeshift dirt court in the village of Gejha, Noida. He is a clinical psychologist by qualification but his passion for basketball led him to seek out the best basketball trainers from around the world.
After attending the Shadow Coaching program at Elev8 Sports Institute in Florida under world renowned skills trainer Ganon Baker and Cody Toppert, Pradyot decided to take his learnings to his home in India. As a national level player himself, he understood the challenges faced by the Indian basketball players to make it to the big stages. Though he started Dribble Academy with the intent to impart high quality basketball, he soon realized the potential of basketball to change the lives of the children from underserved communities.
Within just under 4 years, DAF expanded to 7 programs across 3 states and is currently working with 2500 children; more than half of whom are girls. Many of our students have had representations in District, State and National Championships with two of our students having represented India in the Jr. NBA championships held in Orlando, USA. More than 10 students have received fully paid scholarships to prestigious Sports Schools and Colleges across India.
